Visit to young offenders institute.

Wednesday I spent most the day visiting a volunteer supported education project in a young offenders institute. The projects works with an amazing team of volunteers who commit to a years service and an 8 day training course with assignments before starting. They work with the inmates on their literacy and numeracy the reason for my visit. This is a service we offer our young people but it needs some new vision and thought on delivery, motivation of those attending and the material we use. The day was inspiring and helpful. I now need to reflect and work out a strategy to take this crucial work forward. More soon.
